Renting a Wedding Dress and Wedding Accessories

When it comes to weddings, it's not uncommon to rent some items. Party supplies, limos and the groom's tuxedo come to mind as rentable items, but did you know you can even rent bridal and bridesmaid's dresses, jewelry and accessories? Budget conscious women or those with a taste for couture but not the couture price tag are taking a serious look at renting clothing and accessories for their weddings.

Buying a designer wedding gown can cost thousands of dollars. Some brides can't justify spending that much money on an item that they'll most likely wear once. Add to the purchase price of the gown, the cleaning and preservation of it after the wedding, and we're talking another couple hundred bucks. If you're not the sentimental type, concerned with keeping your wedding gown as an heirloom, you want to wear an expensive designer gown that's out of your budget, or you're looking to cut costs overall, then renting is a great way to get the look you want for less. There are many websites and retail locations that offer gown rentals, and not just bridal gown rentals, but bridesmaid and special occasion dress rentals as well. Renting is as simple as shopping for your favorite dress, arranging for a fitting, ordering the dress online, and returning it after you wear it.

Renting doesn't have to stop with the dress either. Add some sparkle to your wardrobe like the stars do with some borrowed diamond jewelry. Renting jewelry is really a great value since it gives you the opportunity to wear jewelry priced at tens of thousands of dollars for mere hundreds. Some insurance is usually included as part of the rental price, too. Shop online for diamond cuff bracelets, earrings and necklaces, place your order, and the jewelry gets delivered straight to your door.

Bag, Borrow or Steal
Last, but certainly not least, why not rent a fabulous Chanel or Judith Leiber evening bag for your wedding day? Some companies offer rentals by the week, month or season and you can even get optional memberships for access to private sales and discounts so you can always have a trendy designer bag without the designer price.
If you've never thought about renting clothing and accessories for your wedding, it may be worth looking into. As with anything else you are paying for, do some comparison shopping for the best prices and highest quality products. You may find that renting, versus buying new, is a better option for you and your wedding budget.
